Previs Recognized with the Harlan Hamm Longstanding Award for Devoted Service

Dr. Kathy Previs, associate professor of public relations in the Department of Communication, was recognized at the 2017 Kentucky Communication Association's (KCA) Annual Conference on Sept. 16 with the  Harlan Hamm Longstanding Award for Devoted Service to the Association (Lifetime Achievement Award) .

This award is given to a member with sustained service to KCA above and beyond what is expected of her or him. Previs had numerous nominations for the award for her contributions and many years of service. She has had multiple positions with the organization: East Representative, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President, a role she volunteered to continue doing next year since there was a vacant spot.

The conference and awards luncheon took place at General Butler State Park in Carrollton on Sept. 15-16, 2017.

KCA "provides a forum for productive interaction between and among those who apply communication knowledge, those who create communication knowledge, those who study and teach communication."
